10 TIPS For Choosing the Right School for your Toddler

Now that I am a mom, I want to make it sure that I could provide him the best education as much as possible. I have been scouting for toddler school for two years already.

Last year we tried two schools for him, but we ended up nothing he is not yet ready.

But this year he is more confident and ready to go to school he had his Kumon for a month and followed by his summer class, which he got accelerated.

I came up with these lists in choosing a right school for our kids

1.     Accessibility- how long is the travel time a 10-15 minutes drive will do to avoid the inconvenience and to prevent the kids for being restless.

2.    School environment- is the school principal and staffs are friendly and accommodating. For me this is one of the most important thing,  that staffs are easy to talk with and you will feel that your kid is secure and you are very much welcome.

3.    School amenities- classroom are well maintained and follow the DEPED requirements. I also check if they have a socialization area and playground. This will help kids to develop their skills.

4.   Accredited by DEPED-we need to check if the school is DEPED accredited

5.    School background- as much as possible let’s check the school background, how long the school exist, number of enrollees, reviews about the school

6.   School Program- what the school can offer, how many subjects per class, what are the socialization program they offer

7.    Class Population- I always asked this “how many students per class” The ideal ration for kid’s class is 2:12 to 2:15 it supposed to have two teachers per room, students must be 10-15 only.

8.   Teacher’s background- the teacher must be effective and as much as possible she must be well experienced. Handling kids is not easy.

9.   Subjects- what subjects they will teach? 

10. Tuition fee- we have to check if the tuition fee is reasonable enough.

My Little Kulit Culminating Activity

 Yesterday is one of the happiest days of my life, its My Little Kulit Culminating Activity. We enrolled him for one month summer class, our purpose is to expose him with other kids and be ready for the upcoming school year. We never thought that he will accomplish a lot of things for one month.

The program will start at 830am, the room is full of parents and grandparents, kids are so lucky to have this kind of parents to support them on their first Culminating Activity. I took a leave from work to be able to be with My Little Kulit. 

They have a small party with balloons, loot bag and food. The program started with a prayer and welcome remarks by the school principal. After the welcome remarks there is a short dance program by the kids, after the dance stints, the much awaited award. As we all know, all the kids will receive an award. But since it’s my first time I am so excited whatever award is that, as long I heard a lot of compliments with my son how good he is in his class. But I am crossing my fingers and keep on praying na ma accelerate siya.

Before the program ended the teacher and the principal already told me that he is accelerated from Junior Casa to Senior Casa, I am so happy upon hearing the news and can’t wait to share the news with my hubby, sister, and of course the super grandparents.  But wait there is more upon the releasing of their test papers and activity folder Little Kulit got the highest score in his exam its 23/25, consist of five parts, five items each. Seeing his exam I can’t explain my happiness and how proud I am with My Little Kulit. In his young age he really did well.

We are so proud of you Little Kulit, we love you so much :-)

Btw, before we left the school I had a chance to take a picture of My Little Kulit and his Pretty Girl :-)

Tuesdate with Girlfriend

After one year, I saw her again 

She left for Canada last year and went home this February but since I have a weird schedule finally we are able to push thru our long overdue dinner date.

We had dinner at We Nam Kee, we ordered hainanese chicken. Lechon kawali, fried rice and salted egg prawns. Ganyan naming ka miss ang isat isa we ordered food na good for five persons. 

The food is great, it's a little bit pricey but the service is good. Salted egg prawns is a must try.
